UPTU plans to facilitate and promote the quality of technical education and research in its own premises, and all institutions affiliated. The total number of affiliated colleges was 49 in 2000 which has now risen to 238 and the University is still growing. The task of the UPTU for now is to conduct the State level Entrance Examination UP-SEE for admission to various programs affiliated to UPTU. Around 2,15,000 aspirants to take these UPTU entrance across the UP and in parts of Uttrakhand and Delhi. The University conducts examinations center each semester for all affiliated colleges and institutions and declares results quickly by using technology licensing systems. Currently about 150,000 students are enrolled in its various programs. More than 50,000 students are admitted each year. Use the instructions and examination is English.
UPTU is currently in I.E.T. Campus at Sitapur Road in the capital of U.P. Lucknow, but is now having its own headquarters building in his neighborhood. NOIDA Centre and its regional office is nearing completion to facilitate closer interaction in academia and industry around the area and an important set of private colleges are affiliated.
