Josh Selby attended Lake Clifton High School in Baltimore for his senior year, having already attended DeMatha Catholic High School and John Carroll School. He averaged 32 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and two steals per game during his senior season.
Josh Selby had initially committed to play for the University of Tennessee, but a release in July 2009. On April 17, 2010 Josh Selby committed to Kansas Jayhawks to the 2010 Jordan Brand Classic at Madison Square Garden live on ESPN2.
